Ahsanullah Master’s death anniversary today

Staff Correspondent, DHAKA, May 7: The 10th death anniversary of veteran freedom fighter, labour leader, teacher and lawmaker Ahsanullah Master is being observed today (Wednesday).

Marking the day, various programmes have been taken at different places across the country, particularly in the capital city Dhaka and Gazipur.

The programmes includes paying floral wreaths at the graveyard of Shaheed Ahsanullah Master at his village home, holding of Milad and Doa Mahfil, food distribution among the poor, holding meeting and publishing of souvenir.

On May 7, 2004, a gang of criminals shot him dead in an open place on MA Majid Mia High School ground at Noagaon under Tongi police station.

Ahsanullah Master was elected as the Member of Parliament for two times from Gazipur-2 constituency in 1996 and 2001. 

He was also national committee member of the Awami League and was involved with different national and international organizations.
