All polls scheduled after today postponed: EC

Election Commission (EC) has suspended all the scheduled elections including that of Chattogram City Corporation except today's ones due to coronavirus or COVID-19.

Election Commissioner Mahbub Talukder made the announcement at a meeting held at the Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon on Saturday (March 21).

Mahbub said, “We have decided to postpone all elections scheduled after today to contain the risk of spreading coronavirus.”

As per the schedule, elections to Jeshare-6 and Bogura-1 constituencies including that of Chattogram City Corporation were supposed to be held on March 29.
