Allegation against DC Ahmed Kabir proved

An allegation against former Jamalpur Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Kabir in getting intimate with a woman in his office has been proved in the investigation.

The probe body formed to investigate the video scandal of Jamalpur DC has submitted its report to the Ministry of Public Administration.

Joint Secretary of Cabinet Division and convener of the probe body Mushfiqur Rahman confirmed the matter on Tuesday.

The report was submitted to the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday, he said.

The Cabinet Division issued an order in this regard, and the committee was asked to submit their report within 10 working days.

The probe body formed to look into the scandal started investigation on August 29. But it could not complete the investigation within 10 working days. Later, it got another 10 working days for proper investigation.

Two video clips depicting intimacy between a man and a woman went viral on Facebook.

Social media went into a frenzy when media reports identified the man in the video as Jamalpur DC Kabir and the woman as a staff in his office. The room shown in the video clip is the restroom in the DC’s office.

After the incident, Ahmed Kabir was transferred to the Ministry of Public Administration as ‘officer on special duty’ or OSD.
