Amit Saha remanded again, Toha sent to jail

A Dhaka court has placed Amit Saha, one of the accused of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Abrar Fahad murder case, on a fresh three-day remand.

Another accused Hossain Mohammad Toha has been sent to jail after remanded period ended.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sayeed passed the order on Thursday.

Earlier, DB Inspector (Civil) Md Wahiduzzaman, also Investigation Officer ((IO) of the case, produced Amit and Mohammad Toha before the court following five-day remanded completion.

He sought for a fresh 7-day remand for Amit and detention in jail for Toha.

Amit, legal affairs deputy secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) BUET unit, is one of the resident students of the Room no 2011 where Abrar was beaten to death.

Amit searched for Abrar on messenger to one of his roommates on the night when he was killed. A screenshot of Amit’s messenger in this regard later went viral.
