Amit also broke hand of Ovi

Amit Saha, one of the accused in Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Abrar Farhad murder case, also broke hand of another student Shakhawat Hossain Ovi.

Amit Saha, law affairs secretary of Bangladesh Chattra League (BCL)’s BUET unit, broke hand of Shakhawat Hossain Ovi as he did not give salute to him.

Amit Saha said this to police in his confessional statement.

Instead of being a place of higher learning, a dormitory of BUET was turned into a torture cell by some errant leaders including Amit Sha.

BCL leaders led by Amit Saha and others made the Sher-e-Bangla dormitory (Hall) a parallel court where they used to beat their targets with iron rods and cricket stumps.

The objective for such cruel actions was to impose supremacy in the dormitory using the BCL banner. They sued to summon students to number of rooms or to the roof before torturing them for posting comments on social media against their misdeeds, for not attending political programmes, for not abiding by their self-imposed rules and having different ideologies.

They also meted out lesser punishments to the general students in the name of so-called ragging and to new BCL members in the name of “making them strong.”
