Anisuzzaman was infected with coronavirus

National Professor Dr Anisuzzaman, who passed away on Thursday, was infected with coronavirus.
Confirming the matter, Dr Anisuzzaman’s son Ananda Zaman said “We received the report around 10.00pm and my father tested positive for coronavirus”.
The national professor breathed his last around 5pm at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) while undergoing treatment there.
Earlier on April 27, Professor Dr Anisuzzaman was admitted to Universal Cardiac Hospital with heart problems and old age complications.
Later on May 9, Anisuzzaman was shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) from Universal Cardiac Hospital as his health condition deteriorated.
Dr Anisuzzaman is an eminent educator, writer and Emeritus Professor of Bangla language and literature department at Dhaka University.
He participated in the Language Movement, the 1969 Mass Upsurge and the Liberation War. After the independence, he became a member of the National Education Commission with Kudrat-E-Khuda as its chief.
