Another cop dies of coronavirus

Another policeman died of deadly coronavirus or COVID-19 in Bangladesh, taking the total number of deaths caused by the virus to nine.

The deceased was Md Mojibur Rahman Talukder, a sub-inspector (SI) of police.

Confirming the matter, Assistant Inspector General (AIG-Media) of Police Headquarters Md Sohel Rana said, "Mojibur Rahman Talukder was discharging his duty at City SB Paltan Zone-1 of Special Branch."

Mojibur Rahman Talukder was admitted to Impulse Hospital in Dhaka as he tested coronavirus positive on May 11. He was later shifted to the Intensive Care Unit of Rajarbag Central Police Hospital after his health condition deteriorated. He was put on life support as his physical condition deteriorated more. He died at 8:51 am today while on life support, according to Police Headquarters.
