Another virtual HC bench formed

Another virtual High Court (HC) bench has been formed for holding hearings of emergency cases. Justice Bhabani Prasad Singh will lead the bench.

Administration department of the High Court (HC) Division of the Supreme Court (SC) issued a circular in this regard on Wednesday.

The bench has been formed as per the directives of Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain.

According to the circular, ‘The bench of Justice Bhabani Prasad Singh will hear all urgent criminal motions and applications against the orders that granted criminal appeal and bail, except those covered under the law of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).’

Earlier, separate notifications were issued on July 5 and June 15, mentioning of forming 13 benches.
