Eminent painter Kalidas Karmakar passed away on Friday. He was 75.
He was found senseless around 1:30pm at his residence. Later, he was taken to Labaid Hospital where duty doctors declared him dead.
Sourav Chowdhury, the Executive Art Director of Gallery Cosmos, confirmed the matter.
“The body will kept at BIRDEM General Hospital. His mortal remains will be cremated when his two daughters Keya Karmar and Kanka Karmakar will return to Bangladesh from the US,” Sourav Chowdhury said.
He was awarded Shilpakala Padak, the Ekushey Padak for his contribution to fine arts.
