Australia name squad for England tour

Following the footsteps of England, West Indies and Pakistan, Australia are ready to resume international cricketing activities with the tour of England being their first assignment.

Though the details of the schedule are yet to be finalised, Cricket Australia has announced a 26-man preliminary squad for the series, with Usman Khawaja, Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell and Travis Head among the most notable returnees.

Australia Preliminary Squad: Sean Abbott, Ashton Agar, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins, Aaron Finch, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Ben McDermott, Riley Meredith, Michael Neser, Josh Philippe, Daniel Sams, D’Arcy Short, Kane Richardson, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, Andrew Tye, Matthew Wade, David Warner, Adam Zampa.

Australia are set to play England in a limited-overs series involving ODIs and T20Is in September which would mark the return of the Kangaroos on the international circuit for the first time since the Coronavirus outbreak began in March.
