Azhar’s death sentence verdict published

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) has published its verdict that upheld death sentence to Jamaat leader ATM Azharul Islam over crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.

Azhar’s lawyer Advocate Shishir Monir confirmed the news to risingbd on Sunday afternoon.

ATM Azhar will get only chance to file review petition against the verdict.

Attorney General Mahbube Alam said according to jail code, Azhar will face the verdict execution if he does not file review petition after 15 days.
