BB freezes bank accounts of Omar Faruk, his family

Bangladesh Bank (BB) has frozen all bank accounts of Jubo League’s relieved chairman Omar Faruk Chowdhury and his family.

So, all kinds of transactions from accounts of Omar Faruk Chowdhury, his wife, three sons and two business firms will remain closed since now.

Financial Intelligence Unit of Bangladesh Bank on Monday took the decision following request of National Board of Revenue (NBR).

Meanwhile, BB has already issued letters to all banks in this regard.

Chief of Financial Intelligence Unit of Bangladesh Bank Abu Hena Md Razi Hassan confirmed the news.
