Jafar Iqbal Khan, Sher-e-Bangla Hall provost of BUET, resigned on Wednesday amid protests over the killing of Abrar Fahad.
Meanwhile, he complained that BUET administration did not assist him over the incident.
Earlier this noon, expressing solidarity with the protesters. Professor of Chemistry and Advisor (Students Welfare), Dr. Mizanur Rahman said, the hall provost is agreed to resign.
Abrar, a second-year student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering department of BUET, died after he was allegedly beaten by some Chhatra League men brutally at a dormitory of the university on Sunday night.
