Bail hearing for DIG Mizan at noon

Staff Correspondent: Hearing for the anticipatory bail of suspended Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police Mizanur Rahman is scheduled to be held today at noon.

His bail hearing will be held in a case filed for allegedly amassing over Tk 3.28 crore beyond known source of income.

The High Court bench of Justice Obaidul Hasan and Justice SM Kuddus Zaman will hear the bail petition on Monday, said Anti- Corruption Commission lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan.

Earlier, advocate Md Asaduzzaman on behalf of DIG Mizan appealed to the HC seeking anticipatory bail for his client in the case.

A court in Dhaka on June 19 ordered to confiscate assets and freeze bank accounts of DIG Mizan.
