Bangla Academy Literature Award announced

Bangla Academy Literary Awards for the year 2019 have been announced.

Poet and Director General of the academy, Habibullah Siraji revealed names of 10 recipients at a press conference on Thursday afternoon.

The recipients are- Makid Haydar for poetry, Wasi Ahmed for story writing, Swarochish Sarkar for Essay and Research, Rafiqul Islam Bir Uttam for literature based on Liberation War, Khayrul Alam Sabuj for translation, Moin Uddin for Autobiography, Memoirs, Travels, Nadira Mazumdar for science fiction, Ratan Siddique for drama, Rahim Shah for child literature and Saimon Jakaria for folklore.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over the awards to the recipients on February 2, Habibullah Siraji said.
