Sports Correspondent: Bangladesh Women team made a history as they secured maiden victory outplaying Sri Lanka 2-0 in their second match of the six-nation Women’s Junior (U-21) AHF Cup Hockey Qualifiers on Tuesday.
Although, Bangladesh side played well creating pressure on the opponent but could not secure any score in first quarter. Skipper Ritu Khanom scored the first goal from penalty corner. Later, Khushi Tarin scored the second one.
Bangladesh conceded two goals in the 27th and 58th minutes respectively.
Earlier, Bangladesh Women suffered a 0-3 goals defeat against hosts Singapore in their opening match on Monday.
Bangladesh will play Hong Kong on Wednesday (Sept 11), Uzbekistan on Friday (Sept 13) and Chinese Taipei on Sunday (Sept 15).
Country's leading electrical and electronics manufacturing organisation Walton is the co-sponsor of this tournament.
