Bangladesh adds 3,531 new virus cases in a day, 39 deaths

A total of 39 more people died of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, taking the number of deaths to 1,464 in the country.

Besides, a total of 3,531 more people tested positive for Covid-19 over the same period, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 1,12,306.

Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general (Administration) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), disclosed the latest figures of deaths and infections in the daily online bulletin of DGHS on coronavirus situation in Dhaka on Sunday (June 21).

1,084 patients made recoveries newly, Nasima Sultana said.

According to the DGHS, a total of 45,077 individuals have recovered from the disease so far since Bangladesh recorded its first Covid-19 case on March 8.

“We've carried out tests on 15,585 samples collected from across the country and 3,531 more persons have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection. The total number of infections has risen to 1,12,306” she said.
