Bangladesh records 64 coronavirus deaths in a day

A total of 64 more people, highest number in a single day, died of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, taking the number of deaths to 1,847 in the country.

Besides, a total of 3,682 more people tested positive for Covid-19 over the same period, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 1,45,483.

Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), disclosed the latest figures of deaths and infections in the daily online bulletin of DGHS on coronavirus situation in Dhaka on Tuesday (June 30).

According to DGHS, a total of 59,624 individuals have recovered from the disease so far since Bangladesh recorded its first Covid-19 case on March 8.

“We've carried out tests on 18,426 samples collected from across the country and 3,682 more persons have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection. The total number of infections has risen to 1,45,483” she said.
