Bangladesh registers one lakh coronavirus cases

The nationwide tally of COVID-19 cases in Bangladesh has crossed one lakh-mark.

A total of 3,803 more people tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 1,02,292.

Besides, a total of 38 more people died of coronavirus infection over the same period, taking the number of deaths to 1343 in the country.

Prof DrNasima Sultana, additional director general of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), disclosed the latest figures of deaths and infections in the daily online bulletin of DGHS on coronavirus situation in Dhaka on Thursday (June 18).

According to DGHS, a total of 40,164 individuals have recovered from the disease so far since Bangladesh recorded its first Covid-19 case on March 8.

“We've carried out tests on 16,259 samples collected from across the country and 3,803 more persons have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection. The total number of infections has risen to 1,02,292” she said.
