Bangladesh reports 3,775 Covid-19 cases in a day, 41 deaths

A total of 41 more people died of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, taking the number of deaths to 1,888 in the country.

Besides, a total of 3,775 more people tested positive for Covid-19 over the same period, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 1,49,258.

Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), disclosed the latest figures of deaths and infections in the daily online bulletin of DGHS on coronavirus situation in Dhaka on Wednesday (July 1).

According to DGHS, a total of 62,102 individuals have recovered from the disease so far since Bangladesh recorded its first Covid-19 case on March 8.

“We've carried out tests on 16,898 samples collected from across the country and 3,775 more persons have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection. The total number of infections has risen to 1,49,258” she said.
