Bangladesh reports 3,809 new virus cases in a day, 43 deaths

A total of 43 more people died of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, taking the number of deaths to 1,738 in the country.

Besides, a total of 3,809 more people tested positive for Covid-19 over the same period, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 1,37,787.

Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general (administration) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), disclosed the latest figures of deaths and infections in the daily online bulletin of DGHS on coronavirus situation in Dhaka on Sunday (June 28).

A total of 1,409 Covid-19 patients made recoveries in last 24 hours, she said.

According to DGHS, a total of 55,727 individuals have recovered from the disease so far since Bangladesh recorded its first Covid-19 case on March 8.

“We've carried out tests on 18,099 samples collected from across the country and 3,809 more persons have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection. The total number of infections has risen to 1,37,787” she said.
