Bangladesh ambassador to China Mahbub Uz Zaman said the facility of 97 percent duty-free access to a listed number of Bangladeshi products in the Chinese market will continue until 2024.
He made the disclosure in a video message on Friday.
He further said, “The facility Bangladesh got in the Chinese market is more than the duty-free benefits of products covered by the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement.”
Meanwhile, Bangladesh has been enjoying duty-free access to 3,095 products from China under the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement. Apart from this, some 5,161 Bangladeshi products were brought under 97 percent duty-free access to the Chinese market. With this, the government of China provided duty-free access to a total of 8,256 Bangladeshi products.
Bangladesh will enjoy the facility as a member of the Least Developed Country (LDC) grouping, which will come into effect on July 1 this year.
