Bangladesh move up in FIFA Ranking

Sports Correspondent: Bangladesh national football team grabbed their highest position in FIFA ranking in the last 16 years as they climbed eight places in the latest rankings published on Thursday.
Bangladesh moved up in the FIFA Ranking following their good performance in the Bangabandhu Gold Cup international Football Tournament held in Dhaka.
The progress can definitely be attributed to Bangladesh`s a memorable performance in separate matches in the Gold Cup that were ended this month.
Bangladesh had gained 157th position in the latest rankings while it was 165 in the previous year.
India (171), Pakistan (171), Sri Lanka (173) fall behind Bangladesh. It may be mentioned that Bangladesh`s FIFA ranking was 110 in 1996.
