Bank robbery attempt in Rajshahi

Staff Correspondent, Rajshahi:  Robbers attempted to commit robbery at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) branch of Rupali Bank on Thursday midnight.

During the attempt, robbers attacked security guard Liton with sharp weapons.  Seriously injured Liton has been admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

According to police, a group of masked robbers entered the bank around 12.00 am and vandalised the close circuit cameras of the bank.

Entering the bank, robbers tried to break open the vault of the bank but failed, said Golam Ruhul Kuddus, additional deputy commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police.
