Bikalpa Dhara Mannan among 12 sued for graft charges

Staff Correspondent: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday filed two graft cases against Major (retd) Abdul Mannan, Secretary General of Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh and some others on charges of embezzling Tk 43 crore from Bangladesh Industrial Finance Company Limited (BIFC).

ACC Deputy Director SM Sahidur Rahman filed the two cases against Major Mannan, also chairman of BIFC and others with its integrated district office in Dhaka-1, said ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya, public relations officer.

The first case was filed against BIFC chairman Major (retd) Abdul Mannan, its managing director Golam Jelani Didar and nine others on charges of embezzling Tk 28.84 crore from BIFC.

The second case was filed against eight people including BIFC chairman Major (retd) Abdul Mannan on charges of embezzling Tk 14.30 crore.
