Tauquir Ahmed, popularly known as actor and director of Bangladeshi drama and film, has achieved reputation by acting in small and big screen. His luminous role in the area of stage drama also put him on the peak of popularity.
In this year’s Amar Ekushey Book Fair, he has made his debut in the field of poetry. His poetry book named ‘Akguchcho Kobita’ is set to be published in this book fair. The book will be available from Anannya Prokashoni, one of the biggest publication houses in Bangladesh.
His wife Bipasha Hayat has added a new dimension to the creative endeavor of his husband as she drew the cover of the poetry book.
Talking on the publication of his book, Tauquir said, “This is my debut in the field of poetry although books of mine were published earlier. I am filled with excitement.”
Tauquir directed a number of films which won many international and national awards including Bangladesh National Film Awards in the Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Story categories for the films Joyjatra in 2004 and Oggatonama in 2016.
He also earned name and fame in making stage dramas such as Protisaron (2012), Ichchemrittu (2013).
His wife Bipasha Hayat is a Bangladeshi actress, model and painter. She won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film Aguner Poroshmoni in 1994. She earned Meril Prothom Alo Awards in 1998, 1998 and 2002.
