Bobby Hajjaj expelled from Ershad’s adviser post

Staff Correspondent: Bobby Hajjaj has been expelled from his post of special adviser to Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad.

Ershad’s press and political secretary Sunil Shuvo Roy made the announcement through a media release on Sunday afternoon.

The move came a day-after Hajjaj announced that he would contest in the upcoming mayoral election of Dhaka City Corporation (North) as an independent candidate.

Earlier on Saturday, at a press conference at his Banani office, Hajjaj, son of business tycoon Moosa Bin Shamser, declared his mayoral candidacy for the upcoming Dhaka North City Corporation polls.

The elections to the three city corporations (Dhaka North, South and Chittagong) will be held on April 28.

Mayoral and councillor aspirants can file applications till March 29 seeking candidature in the polls.
