Bongshal fire: Another child dies

Another child, who was burnt in a fire caused by a gas pipeline explosion at Bongshal in the capital, has died, raising the number of death toll in the incident to two.

The child named Jannat died on Friday night while undergoing treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital's Police Outpost Sub-Inspector Bachchu Mia confirmed the matter.

Earlier, a two-year-old child named Mainuddin was burnt to death in the fire followed by the explosion.

Dr Partha Sankar Pal, residential surgeon of Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute, told risingbd “two people are in critical condition as 30 per cent of Jabed’s body and 60 per cent body of Sheuli Begum have burnt”.

The fire caused by a gas pipeline explosion at a residence of Kosaituli of Bongshal in the capital on Thursday morning.
