Bracelet gifted back to Mashrafe by the buyer

Bangladesh's former captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza's bracelet was sold for a whopping Tk 42 lakh during an auction on Sunday.

It was a bracelet that he donned on his arm for 18 long years

The auction was conducted through 'Auction 4 Action', a Bangladesh based charity organisation.

Mashrafe auctioned the bracelet to raise funds for people affected by the Covid-19 outbreak.
Bangladesh Leasing and Finance Companies Association (BLFCA) bid the highest price of Tk 40 lakh for the bracelet that was set at a base price of Tk five lakh.

The chairman of BLFCA, who is also the CEO of IPDC Finance Limited -- Mominul Islam -- added Tk 2 lakh to the bid, making it Tk 42 lakh in total.

Mominul also announced that they want to return the bracelet to Mashrafe as a gift.

The bracelet, with Mashrafe's name on it, has been a lucky charm and witness to all the highs and lows of his career.
