Businessman Helal murder: Key accused Rupom remanded

A Dhaka court has placed key accused Charles Rupom on a two-day remand in a case filed over businessman Helal Uddin murder at Dakshin Khan in the capital.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sayed passed the order on Monday (June 22).

Earlier, Investigation Officer (IO) of the case produced Rupom before the court and sought a 10-day remand.

Rupom was arrested on Sunday midnight.

Earlier, Rupom’s mother-in-law Shahina Akter, 48, and his wife Monisha Sarkar gave confessional statement on June 19. They are currently behind the bar.

Mentionable, businessman Helal Uddin was murdered on June 15 and his body was dismembered into parts and dumped at Dakshin Khan and airport area. Police firstly recovered the lower part of navel and later the rest part. Later, deceased’s elder brother Huzaifa filed a case with Dakshin Khan Police Station in this connection.
