CC cameras at all city cattle markets

Senior Correspondent: Only few days are left for Eid-ul-Azha, the second biggest religious festival of Muslims to be held on August 12. Cattle markets in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and South City Corporation (DSCC) have started to be decorated. Extra security measures have also been taken for the cattle markets. To strengthen the security, police decided to set up Close Circuit (CC) cameras in all cattle markets in the city, according to top officials of police.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzman Mia said, “Alongside three-tier security measure, there will be fake note identification machines in cattle markets. In consideration of traffic congestion and public sufferings, stern actions will be taken against those will arrange cattle markets on roads, out of the fixed places.
He also told media after attending a programme at BFDC that all the city cattle markets will be brought under cc cameras to ensure security.
Police said, “All entrances of the cattle markets, cash counters and adjacent areas will be monitored on the cc cameras round the clock. If someone is found suspicious will be searched.
A total of 23 cattle markets- 9 in DNCC and 14 in DSCC, will be set across the two cities in the capital. Nearly 80 percent preparations have been completed for the cattle markets, according leaseholders.
