Staff Correspondent: A case has been filed against spokesperson of Ganajagaran Mancha Imran H Sarker and human rights activist Khushi Kabir with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's (CMM) Court in Dhaka for defaming Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Haji Mohammad Badal, known as social worker in Old Dhaka's Chawkbazar area, filed the case to the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate SM Masud Zaman on charges of chanting 'objectionable' slogans against Sheikh Hasina from a procession protesting the removal of sculpture from the Supreme Court premises.
The court took deposition of the plaintiff and said the order in the case will be passed later.
The plaintiff in the deposition said he was shocked at the derogatory slogans they chanted against the prime minister as he respected Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as his own mother.
On May 28, the 'objectionable' slogans were made against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at a procession led by Ganajagaran Mancha spokesperson Imran H Sarker. The procession was organised to protest the decision to remove sculpture from the Supreme Court premises.
