Brahmanbaria Correspondent: A case has been filed against Deputy Chief of Army during the War of Liberation AK Khandaker for distorting the history of Liberation War in his recently-published book ‘1971: Bhitare Bahire’.
M Ishak Bhuiyan, a former joint secretary and freedom fighter, filed the case with Brahmanbaria Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on Wednesday noon.
Accepting the case, the court set the hearing date on September 15.
The book ‘1971: Bhitare Bahire’ published by Prothoma and launched recently, says Bangabandhu at the end of his historic March 7, 1971 speech had uttered ‘Joy Pakistan’ after ‘Joy Bangla.’
Air Vice Marshal (retd) Khandaker served as the planning minister during the Awami League’s previous tenure. But he did not seek nomination in the January 5 election.
