Charge sheet against ex-CJ SK Sinha, 10 others

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has approved charge sheet against 11 persons including former Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha in a case filed over misappropriating and laundering about Tk 4 crore from the then Farmers Bank.

The decision was taken at a meeting held at the ACC’s office in the capital on Wednesday.

Confirming the matter to risingbd, ACC's Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said the charge sheet will soon be submitted to the court.

The other accused in the case are- Farmers Bank (Now Padma Bank) former MD AKM Shameem, former SEVP Gazi Salahuddin, First vice president Shapon Kumar Roy, former chairman of audit committee of Farmers Bank Md Mahbubul Haque Chisty, First vice president Safiuddin Askari, Vice president Md Lutful Haque, Md Shahjahan of Tangail, Niranjan Chandra Saha, Ranjit Chandra Saha and his wife Santri Roy.

Senior vice president Md Ziauddin Ahmed was excluded from the list of the accused in the case as he died in recent time.

The watchdog found ‘evidence’ of fraud involving transactions of Tk 4 crore from Farmers Bank.
