City life almost normal amid hartal

City life seems almost normal during the dawn to dusk hartal enforced by BNP in Dhaka city, protesting ‘widespread irregularities’ in Dhaka city elections.

BNP activists and supporters are largely absent from the streets since the hartal began at 6:00am on Sunday and there has been no report of violence till filing of this report.

Traffic flow on the streets was as usual. Vehicular movement is found quite normal in the capital city Dhaka. No subversive and unpleasant incident is yet to be reported when this story was filed at 1.00am.

A good number of passenger vehicles were plying on different routes carrying mainly the office-goers in the morning, reports this correspondent. 

The inter-district buses also departed from the city and entered here. Law enforcers remained deployed in adequate numbers at the important points of the city.
