City polls: 6 collect AL nomination for mayoral race

A total of 6 candidates have collected the nomination forms of Awami League for Dhaka North and South City Corporations mayoral race.

The sale of nomination forms started at 10:00am on Wednesday which will continue till December 27.

Aspirants can collect their nomination papers from Awami League president Sheikh Hasina’s political office. The last date of submitting nomination paper is December 31.  Later, the Election Commission will scrutinize it on January 2. The last date of candidature withdrawal is January 9.

The aspirants’ of DNCC: Incumbent mayor of DNCC Atiqul Islam, Bangabandhu foundation joint general secretary Shahidullah Osmani.

The aspirants’ of DSCC: Dhaka-10 MP Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, Dhaka-7 seat MP Hazi Selim, Bangabandhu Academy president Md Nazmul Haque, Former secretary of Muktijoddha Central Command Council Freedom fighter MA Rashid.
