Controversial persons not allowed to attend Victory Day programs

Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan said deputy commissioners were directed not to allow war criminals and people with controversial roles in the liberation war to attend Victory Day programmes across the country.

The minister said this while addressing reporters after a meeting on Wednesday.

Asaduzzaman Khan said, “Directives have been given to the local administration to take necessary steps in this regard.”

Sufficient security measures will be taken for the president, prime minister and cabinet members in the National Mausoleum on that day. CCTV cameras will be installed at National Mausoleum area to prevent any act of sabotage.

Special meals will be served at jails, hospitals, orphanage on the occasion of victory day, he added.
