Cop ‘commits suicide’ in capital

A police man has committed suicide by shooting himself at Mirpur-14 in the capital due to ‘frustration’.

The deceased was identified as Shah Md Abdul Kuddus, 31, a nayek of police, hailing from Rasulpur in Habiganj.

The tragic incident took place early Thursday at Police Line ground in the area.

Selimuzzaman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kafrul Police Station, confirmed the incident.

The OC said, “It is suspected that Kuddus committed suicide due to frustration”.

The body of Kuddus was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College & Hospital for an autopsy, he said.
