Corona fake report: Couple confess, 4 remanded

A couple, members of a racket who were visiting door to door to collect samples and providing fake reports, have given confessional statement to a Dhaka court.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mainul Islam recorded their statement on Wednesday.

Earlier, SI Dewan Md Sabur of Tejgaon Police Station, also investigation officer (IO) of the case, produced them before the court.

The couple are known as Humayun Kabir and his wife Tanjina Patwary. They were sent to jail after confessional statement.

Meanwhile, another Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqul Islam placed other four accused on a two-day remand in the case.

The accused who were remanded are known as Oval Group chairman and CEO Ariful Haque Chowdhury, Sayed Chowdhury, Biplob Das and Mamunur Rashid.

They were held conducting drive at Tejgaon area in the capital from 9:00am to 3:00pm on Tuesday.
