Coronavirus: Bangladesh sees 3,099 new cases, 38 deaths

A total of 38 more people died of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, taking the number of deaths to 1209 in the country.

Besides, a total of 3,099 more people tested positive for Covid-19 over the same period, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 90,619.

Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), disclosed the latest figures of deaths and infections in the daily online bulletin of DGHS on coronavirus situation in Dhaka on Monday (June 15).

According to DGHS, a total of 34,027 individuals have recovered from the disease so far since Bangladesh recorded its first Covid-19 case on March 8.

“We've carried out tests on 15,038 samples collected from across the country and 3,099 more persons have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection. The total number of infections has risen to 90,619” she said.
