Coronavirus: Malaysia wants to import chloroquine from Bangladesh

Malaysia has expressed its eagerness to import hydrochloroquine from Bangladesh for treatment of coronavirus in the country.

For this, as part of regional cooperation Malaysia foreign minister Hishammuddin Hussein on Sunday wrote a letter to his Bangladesh counterpart A K Abdul Momen requesting to lift the ban imposed on export of the medicine.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs came up with the information in a press release.

In the letter Malaysia Foreign Minister said his government is providing over all assistance to the Bangladesh expatriates there amid coronavirus situation.

Malaysia government is also working with Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur closely, it read.

Besides, Hishammuddin Hussein put emphasizes on working for Bangladesh and Malaysia together to fight the coronavirus outbreak.

He also thanked Bangladesh Foreign Minister for his help on returning Malaysia citizens amid coronavirus situation.
