Coronavirus affects economy: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that coronavirus has created a serious impact on the global economy, also on our economy.

The premier made the remarks during a videoconference with officials of 15 districts under Chattogram and Sylhet divisions on the present coronavirus situation in the country.

Prime Minister's Principal Secretary Dr Ahmed Kaykaus conducted the conference.

At the beginning of her speech, the Prime Minister briefly outlined the overall picture of Bangladesh's development. He said the coronavirus has caused a global crisis. It has created a serious impact on the global economy.  As a result, it has an impact on Bangladesh too.

“We are trying to tackle the situation. We can face a big problem in April as a result we all have to be careful”, he added.
