Coronavirus infections decline in 16 Iran provinces

Deputy Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education of Iran said that cases of coronovirus infections declined in 16 Iranian provinces on Tuesday, as the number of those infected stood between zero and 20.
Iraj Harirchi added on the sidelines of inaugural ceremony of new chancellor of Ardebil Medical Sciences University that in 25 per cent of the Iranian provinces the number of infected people was from zero to 10, while in the other 25 per cent of the provinces it was something between 10 to 20.
It was for the first time over the past months that the number of deaths in the country fell below 100 and this is a main achievement, he said, noting that it was also of a declining trend across the country but continuation of the situation depends on public cooperation in implementing Social Distancing Initiative.
He further noted that universities, schools and holy shrines have remained closed to cut down unnecessary travels, which is essential for containing the pandemic.
