Coronavirus won’t hamper Padma Bridge work: Obaidul

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said that work on several mega development projects including Padma Bridge will not be hampered due to coronavirus spread.

The minister said this at a press conference at the Secretariat on Wednesday.  
He said “Bangladesh is on alert to prevent ‘mysterious’ virus in China. We are observing the coronavirus situation and Chinese nationals who work in Bangladesh”.

About 1,000 Chinese nationals work under different projects in Bangladesh, of which 150 are now home on leave to celebrate the Chinese New Year, he added.
