A Dhaka court has ordered to submit an investigation report in a case filed with Gulshan Police Station against the authorities of the United Hospital bringing allegation of negligence over the death of five patients in a fire at the hospital.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sufian Md Noman accepted the first information report (FIR) of the case after it reached the court on Thursday (June 4).
Accepting the FIR, the magistrate ordered to submit a report on July 5 after investigating the case.
Liaquat Ali, Sub Inspector and also the General Registration Officer of Gulshan Police Station, told this to reporters.
Ronald Mickey Gomez, a relative of one of the five deceased, filed the case with the police station on Wednesday night.
Chairman of United Hospital, its managing director, chief executive officer, director, doctors, nurses, and other officials of the corona unit were made accused in the case.
It is relevant to mention that five patients were killed as a fire originating from an explosion of Air Conditioner broke out at the isolation unit of the hospital on May 27.
