Covid-19 cases cross two-lakh mark in Bangladesh

A total of 34 more people died of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, taking the number of deaths to 2,581 in the country.

Besides, a total of 2,709 more people tested positive for Covid-19 over the same period, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 2,02,066.

Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), disclosed the latest figures of deaths and infections in the daily online bulletin of DGHS on coronavirus situation in Dhaka on Saturday (July 18).

According to DGHS, a total of 1,10,098  individuals have recovered from the disease so far since Bangladesh recorded its first Covid-19 case on March 8.

“We've carried out tests on 10,923 samples collected from across the country and 2,709 more persons have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection. The total number of infections has risen to 2,02,066” she said.
