Regular criminal cases can be filed with lower courts: SC

From now on, regular criminal cases can be filed with the lower courts across the country, which were suspended for nearly four months due to coronavirus or Covid-19 pandemic.

Supreme Court (SC) Registrar General Md Ali Akbar on Saturday (July 11) night issued a circular in this regard following the order of the Chief Justice.

Md Saifur Rahman, spokesperson of the Supreme Court, confirmed the matter to risingbd on Sunday (July 12) morning.

From now on, regular criminal cases can be filed with Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal, Chief Judicial Magistrate Court and Chief Metropolitan Court, maintaining social distancing, he said.
