Ctg students get 10 double-decker buses

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given 10 double-decker buses to BRTC, Chattogram Depot as a gift with an aim to ease the transportation of the students in the port city.

These buses will ply in the morning and evening shifts on two city routes.

All categories of students including government, private school, college and madrasha will have the opportunities to board the buses with a minimum charge of Tk. 5 each for any destination.

Bus fares will be collected by an exclusive way through dropping in 'Satata Box' placed in front and back sides of the bus and every student will drop their fares by own initiatives in the box.

The service was inaugurated at a function arranged at MA Aziz Stadium on Saturday morning.

Presided over by Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram Mohammad Ilias Hossain, the programme was attended by Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury was present as the chief guest and Managing Director of GPH Ispat Ltd Md Almas Shimul was present as the special guest.
