Staff Correspondent: Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has launched a 15-day mosquito eradication crash programme through visiting all doors of the city dwellers.
DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon inaugurated the programme from in front of Padma General Hospital in the capital Kathalbagan on Sunday.
He said, “As a part of the drive, “Representatives of DSCC inspection, cleanliness and health teams began visiting 25, 000 houses under 57 wards of the city area to destroy larvae of Aedes mosquito.”
“The DSCC representatives will visit 1,710 houses every day and also teach the people how to destroy the larva of the Aedes mosquito,” he added.
The mayor also sought all-out cooperation from the city dwellers and called upon them to build a sense of self-awareness to get rid of the prevailing mosquito menace.
Underscoring the need for people’s self-awareness, Khokon expressed his optimism that he would be able to eradicate the mosquito menace through a collective effort of the city dwellers.
