Death warrant for ATM Azharul reaches jail

The death warrant for Jamaat-e-Islami leader ATM Azharul Islam reached Dhaka Central Jail on Monday noon.

However, the jail authority did not say anything officially in this regard.

Sources said, the warrant was reached in Gazipur’s Kashimpur jail around 2:00pm. It will be readout later.

On December 30, 2014, ICT-1 gave Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General ATM Azharul Islam a death sentence for his war crimes committed in Rangpur in 1971.
